              <p> Genealogy assistance is provided in 4 different ways:<br><br>
<ol type="1">

	       	    names with some idea of the date of the event.</li>

	<li>  In person at Town Hall</li>

<p>
The cost of a certified copy is $7.00 to $10.00. <br> An extensive search of records will be subject to<br> an hourly fee. </p><p>We accept checks and cash only in advance<br> of issuing any certificates.

The "Great Fire of Norway" occurred in 1894. <br> Therefore, many town records were lost.

* They have an excellent collection of filmed vital records, including many old town records, and the 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 U.S. Census enumeration schedules.  The Archives also has excellent facilities for researchers.  The Maine State Library, located in the same building, has an extensive collection of published family genealogies.
